THE LANDING

Shaped by undulating topography and layered, native-forward planting design, The Landing offers an immersive natural experience at the edge of a growing community. Meandering pathways, intimate seating areas, and strategically placed overlooks encourage exploration while maintaining a sense of tranquility and retreat.

The project’s realization required a comprehensive Site Improvement Plan (SIP) process through Douglas County, ensuring that the design met rigorous standards for grading, drainage, access, and environmental stewardship. Close coordination with county staff guided the integration of the park into the broader Solstice framework, balancing aesthetic goals with technical requirements and long-term maintenance considerations. Through this collaborative review process, the design team was able to refine the park’s layout, preserve key view corridors, and respond thoughtfully to the site’s natural constraints—ultimately delivering a space that is both highly functional and deeply connected to its surroundings.

Scheduled for construction in early 2026, The Landing is envisioned as a passive, relaxation-focused park designed to serve residents of all ages. Located along the western buffer of the Solstice community, the park takes full advantage of its elevated position overlooking the front range of the Rocky Mountains—an experience that inspired its signature feature, the Sunset Terrace. Here, expansive views and carefully framed sightlines create a destination for gathering, reflection, and appreciation of Colorado’s dramatic landscape.
