Primrose School is a preschool located within the Reunion community in northeast Denver. Sage Design Group developed a thoughtful landscape architecture design that supports the school’s educational mission by creating a functional, engaging outdoor environment for young learners.

The design integrates outdoor learning and play opportunities that extend the classroom experience beyond the building. A variety of spaces encourage exploration, creativity, and active play while maintaining clear circulation and staff supervision. The landscape framework complements the school’s architecture and the surrounding Reunion development, creating a cohesive campus setting.

Responding to regional climate conditions and environmental goals, the design emphasizes xeriscaping and water-wise planting strategies. Native and adaptive plant palettes reduce irrigation demand while still providing seasonal interest, texture, and sensory engagement for children. These low-water-use solutions support sustainability objectives without compromising educational value.

Overall, the landscape design balances practicality, sustainability, and child-focused programming to create an outdoor environment that enhances learning, supports daily use, and integrates seamlessly within the broader community context.
